I’m going to give a talk about public holidays in Russia.

There are some public holidays in our country but I’m going to talk about the most popular ones. For example, the most popular holiday in our country is New Year’s Eve. I think all Russians celebrate it and have very similar traditions how to spend this night. Also Victory day on May 9 is one of our favourite public holidays.

Of course I love New Year and New Year holidays most. It’s my favourite time of a year when we don’t need to go to school and can spend a lot of time outside. Also as almost all people in the world I love surprises and presents and I usually get a lot of gifts from my parents, relatives and friends.

I don’t think that there are not a lot of differences in the way how Russians spend New Year’s Eve. People in our city and in our country usually have a big festive dinner with tasty food and champagne. They give and get presents, dance, play games and go for a walk at night.

Obviously, I’ve got a positive attitude to public holidays. We don’t have to go to school and work and it’s wonderful.

That’s all that I wanted to tell you about public holidays in Russia.
