Цитата дня:

«Two things that could measure who we are: The way we manage when we have nothing, and the way we behave when we have everything.»

Author Unknown

Знаете ли Вы что:

The Tower of Independence clock on the back of a U.S. $100 dollar bill shows the time as 4:10.

Good morning!

What about a cup of English?

Vocabulary:

to measure (verb — глагол) мерить, замерять

to manage (verb — глагол) управлять, справляться

to behave (verb — глагол) вести себя, поступать

tower (noun — существительное) башня, крепость

independence (noun — существительное) независимость

bill (noun — существительное) купюра, счет

Grammar:

Определительное придаточное или relative clause объясняет или уточняет какой именно предмет, человек или место:

That’s a woman who won the lottery last year.

This is the cafe where we had dinner last week.

Используйте who — для человека, which — для предмета, where — для места.

A cook is a person who works in a cafe.

A clock is a thing which tells the time.

A shoe shop is a place where you can buy shoes.

Вместо who и which можно использовать that.

She is the girl who/that works with me.

Iy’s a thing which/that connects two computers.

Ну и на примере цитаты дня:

Two things that could measure who we are…

ПЕРЕВОД ЦИТАТЫ И ФАКТА ДНЯ:
